The objective of this research was to find out the influence of using numbered head together (NHT) technique toward students’ reading comprehension of recount text at eighth grade of SMPN 10 Kota Serang. The researcher used quantitative research using true experimental design for conducting the research. This research was conducted in four meetings. The population of this research was eighth grade of SMPN 10 Kota Serang in academic year 2018/2019. The sample of this research was taken by using cluster random sampling. There were two classes involved in this research, VIII B as experimental class and VIII G as control class with 30 students in each class. The experimental class was taught by using numbered head together (NHT) technique and control class was taught by lecturing technique. The data was collected through pre-test and post-test was given to experimental class and control class and analyzed hypothesis by using t-test formula. The calculation result of t-test showed that tcountwas higher than ttable(9.22 ≥ 2.00) with the significance 0.05. Itmeans that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and (H0) was rejected. It can be concluded that there was influence of using numbered head together(NHT) technique toward students’ reading comprehension of recount text ateighth grade of SMPN 10 Kota Serang.
