The objective of this research was to investigate whether there is the influence of the PQRST strategy toward students’ reading comprehension on narrative text at the tenth grade of SMAN 4 Kota Serang. In obtaining the data, the research method was quantitative research particularly true experimental design and used two classes into experimental and control group. The population of the research was the tenth grade students at SMAN 4 Kota Serang in academic year 2018/2019. Two classes were taken as the sample of this research, namely X MIA 5 as experimental class and X MIA 6 as control class. Both of the class consisted of 32 students. The experimental class was taught by using PQRST strategy and control class was taught by using discussion method. The research found the result of post-test mean score in experimental class was higher than the result of post-test mean score in control class. To prove that the mean score of both classes were significantly different, the data was analyzed by using t-test. The result of data analysis showed that t-test was 3.43 and t-table was 1.99 at level significant 0.05 (5%) and the degree of freedom was 62. T-test was higher than t-table (3.43 ≥ 1.99). It meant that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. So, it can be concluded that there was an influence of PQRST strategy toward students’ reading comprehension on narrative text at the tenth grade of SMAN 4 Kota Serang.
