The aim of the research was to find out whether PORPE method has influence on the students’ reading comprehension. This research was conducted at tenth grade of SMAN 1 Pamarayan in academic year 2018/2019. The sample of the research were X IPS 1 which consisted of 35 students as the experimental class and X IPS 2 which consisted of 35 students as the control class. The experimental class was taught by using PORPE ( Predict, Organize, Rehearse, Practice, Evaluate ) method and control class without PORPE method. This study used quantitative research by using quasi-experimental design. Technique for collecting the data was test which consisted of pre-test and post-test. After calculated the data, it is found that there any influence of PORPE method on the students’ reading comprehension, indicated by the value of t-test higer than the value t-table ( 4.8 ≥ 2.00 ) at the level of significance of α 0.05 and degree of freedom is 68. It means that the hypothesis was accepted. From those findings, it can be concluded that there is any influence of PORPE method on the students’ reading comprehension.
