This research aim was to find out the influence of using Think Aloud strategy on
students reading comprehension in narrative text at tenth grade of SMAN 1
Pamarayan. This research was done by quasi experimental with purposive
sampling. The population of this research were all of the students of SMAN 1
Pamarayan consisted of 288 students. The researcher used two classes, X MIA 1 as
experimental and X MIA 3 as control class. Both of classes consisted of 35 students.
In collecting the data, the researcher used instrument in the form of multiple choice
question. Try out was conducted at the first step to get the data. After conducting
the try out, the researcher gave pre-test in both classes. The researcher gave the
treatment in experimental class using Think Aloud Strategy and in the control class
using discussion method. After giving the treatment, the researcher gave post-test
in both classes. The researcher analyzed them by using Independent T-test. The
result of Independent T-test, it was calculated 𝑡𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡≥𝑡𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 or 7.94 ≥ 1.99. The
alternative hypothesis was accepted. It can be concluded that there was an influence
of using Think Aloud strategy on students reading comprehension in narrative text
at tenth grade of SMAN 1 Pamarayan
