This research aimed to know the process and the result of students writing  skill on recount text used animation video. The researcher conducted the
classroom action research as the methodology. The subject of the research was VIII A which consist of 28 students. This classroom action research held at SMPN 17 Kota Serang. This research was conducted in two cycles which consisted of three meetings in every cycle. The instruments used in data collecting were test and observation sheet. Based on the data has been obtained, the data showed that the students interested in learning English writing. The result showed that in the pre-test, the average score of students’ is 56.4, on cycle I the average score was improved to 73.75 and 81.6 on cycle II. This means animation videos improved
the students’ writing on recount text.
