This study aims to determine student responses after using Duolingo and how lecturers apply Duolingo as a media of learning English in the classroom. The subject of this research was 1B class at first semester in English Education Department of UNTIRTA. The research instruments in this study include observation, interviews, and questionnaires, because this study uses a case study research design. The results showed that lecturer applying Duolingo in the classroom according to the three important steps of using learning media proposed by Budiningsih (1995) and the majority of students responded similarly to the purpose and effectiveness of Duolingo as a learning media.
