The objective of this study is aimed to know whether peer correction technique is effective or not on students writing skill in descriptive text. This study was undertaken in SMPN 7 Kota Serang. The population of this research is the seventh grade students which consist of 325 students. Meanwhile, the samples of this research are VII H and VII I class with 30 students as the sample for each class. The researcher collected the data by conducting pre-test and post-test. In this research, the researcher applied quasi experimental with control group design. The two classes are divided intro control and experimental class. The result of this research shows that peer correction technique is effective on students’ writing skill. It is proved by the improvement of students mean score. The mean score of pre-test control and experimental class was 58.50 and 62.33, while the mean score of post-test control and experimental class was 65.83 and 81.50. Eventually, the experimental class shows better improvement. Furthermore, the result of t-test (𝑡𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡) is 3.094. Compared to have value of 𝑡𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡 with the degree of significance 5% (1.001), 3.094 > 1.001, it is proved that the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. In addition, the students also felt interested and motivated an writing class
