The aim of this research is to find out whether or not there is an effect of brainstorming toward students reading comprehension at tenth grade of SMAN 2 Krakatau Steel Cilegon. The population of this research is the tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Krakatau Steel Cilegon and the researcher took 70 students as the sample was divided into two classes. In getting the data, the researcher used test as an instrument (pre-test and post-test). The researcher analyzed the data by using normality test, test of homogeneity and t-test as hypothesis). The improvement can also be seen by the result of t-value that is 5.38. The value of t-table is 2.00, from 0.05 significant levels. The computation shows that t-value is higher than ttable, that is 5.38>2.00, the mean of post-test experimental group is higher than control group (86.28>79.42). Thus, it can be concluded that brainstorming technique is effective toward students‘ reading comprehension at the tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Krakatau Steel Cilegon.
