The objective of this research were: (1) to find out students need in learning reading recount text. (2) to figure out how the quality of Wordpress based learning. This is a Research and Development (R&D) study which were adapted from Research and Development (R&D) proposed by Borg and Gall (2003), seven steps are used as research procedures to conduct the research. This research involved a tenth grade English teacher and students of X IPA 1 at SMAN 1 Ciomas. The questionnaire, interview, the students assessment, material and media experts validation were used to collect the data. The data was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Accordingly, this research revealed that first, the students and an English teacher needs Wordpress based learning as the learning media. Second, the process of developing Wordpress based learning started from research and information collecting until operational product revision was run well. The final model was successfully developed in the form of website “www.funrecount.wordpress.com”. Third, based on the result of experts judgement and student’s assessment, the quality of media was good and appropriate to be used for teaching recount text at the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Ciomas. In conclusion, FUNRECOUNT could be applied as an alternative learning media in the teaching learning recount text material and its important to consider and understand procedures of model development in creating a learning media.
