TEACHING PRONUNCIATION THROUGH READING ALOUD TECHNIQUE AT SEVENTH GRADE OF SMPN 13 KOTA SERANG (Research and Development)

The objective of the research was to find out whether there was influence of using reading aloud technique toward students’ English pronunciation at the seventh grade of SMPN 13 Kota Serang. The researcher used quantitative research by applying true experimental design for conducting the research. The sample of this research was chosen based on cluster random sampling. There were experimental class and control class that each class consists of 38 students. The pre-test was given to both classes before the treatment. Then treatment was given only to experimental class for two meeting. In testing the hypothesis the researcher used t-test as formulas. The calculation showed the result of is higher than (2.73≥ 1.99) with the level of significance 0.05 (5%). The alternative hypothesis was accepted. It can be concluded that there was an influence of reading aloud technique toward students’ English Pronunciation at the seventh grade of SMPN 13 Kota Serang. In conclusion, Reading Aloud can be one of the techniques that effective to improve students’ pronunciation skill.
