The objective of the reseach was to find out the influence of Using E-Short Story towards students‟ vocabulary at the eight grade of SMPN 17 Kota Serang. In this research, the reseacher conducted quantitative research in collecting the data with true experimental research design as a method of the research. The populations of this research all of the students of VIII B as control class and VIII E as experimental class. The classes were chosen by cluster random sampling from seven classes. In collecting the data, the researcher conducted pre-test and post-test consisting of 20 muliple choice items A, B, C or D. In analyzing the data, the researcher used T-test. The result of the calculation showed that in the significance degree of 5% is tcount (5.30) is higher than ttable (2.00). It means that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and it can be seen that the average gained score of the experimental class is higher than those of control class. Therefore, it can be concluded that E-Short Story is effective on the students‟ vocabulary. So, it can be concluded that there was an influence of using E-Short Story towards students‟ vocabulary at the eight grade of SMPN 17 Kota Serang. It showed that in the result of test after implementing E-Short Story (in post-test) gave the good improvement. Furthermore, E-Short Story can be an alternative for media improving students‟ vocabulary.
