THE INFLUENCE OF USING ANIMATION VIDEO TOWARD STUDENTS WRITING SKILL IN NARRATIVE TEXT AT THE TENTH GRADE OF SMAN 19 KABUPATEN TANGERANG

The objective of this research was to find out the influence of using animation video toward students writing skill in Narrative Text at the Tenth Grade of SMAN 19 Kabupaten Tangerang. The researcher used quantitative research by applying true experimental design for conducting the research. The population of this research was the tenth grade students of SMAN 19 Kabupaten Tangerang. The sample of this research was chosen based on cluster random sampling. The groups were put into Experimental Group and Control Group. Each group consists of 30 students. Pre-test was given to the groups at the beginning of the phase. Then treatment was given only to experimental group for one meeting. To find the improvement, post-test was given to the groups. The researcher used content validity and inter-rater reliability in order to make sure that the instruments was valid and reliable. In testing the hypothesis the researcher used ttest as formulas to know the influence of animation video toward students writing skill in Narrative text at the tenth grade of SMAN 19 Kabupaten Tangerang. The calculation showed the result of 𝑡𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡 is higher than 𝑡𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 (2.59≥ 2.00) with the significance 0.05 (5%). The alternative hypothesis was accepted. The result of this research shown that by using animation video through students writing ability in narrative text has 0.324 medium influence effect based on the scale of effect size. It can be concluded that there is an influence of using animation video toward students writing skill in Narrative text at the tenth grade of SMAN 19 Kabupaten Tangerang. So, the result of this research is animation video can be used by English teacher to help students writing skill in narrative text.
