THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING RANDALLíS ESL CYBER LISTENING LAB IN TEACHING LISTENING COMPREHENSION AT THE ELEVENTH GRADE OF SMA PRISMA KOTA SERANG

The objective of this research is to find out whether Randalls ESL Cyber Listening Lab as a media is effective for students listening comprehension at the eleventh grade of SMA PRISMA Kota Serang on second semester of academic year 2016/2017. The researcher used quantitative research by using true experimental design. The population of this research is all students at eleventh grade of SMA PRISMA Kota Serang. By using cluster random sampling technique.The sample were divided into 2 classes, they were XI IPS 1 as the experimental class and XI IPS 2 as a control class. Each group consists of 20 students. The mean score of experimental class in pre test was 66.45 and post-test was 81.55 after the researcher gave a Randalls ESL Cyber Listening Lab treatment. The different score was 15.10 points. Then, the result showed the significance degree of 5%. The result was 𝑡𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡 > 𝑡𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 (82.05 > 2.02), it means that the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted. According to the criteria of the test, there is a difference between students listening comprehension by using Randalls ESL Cyber Listening Lab and without Randalls ESL Cyber Listening Lab. It means that Randalls ESL Cyber Listening Lab is effective to be used as a media for students listening comprehension at the eleventh grade of SMA PRISMA Kota Serang.
