THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING JEOPARDY GAME TOWARD STUDENTSí READING COMPREHENSION ON NARRATIVE TEXT AT TENTH GRADE OF SMAN 1 CIRUAS

The objective of the research is to find out the developing on students’ reading compehension on narrative text by using Jeopardy game at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Ciruas. In this research, the researcher conducted quantitative in collected the data. The researcher took the Tenth Grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Ciruas.This research used quantitative appproach with true experimental research design as a method of the research. The populations of this research were all of the students of tenth grade in SMAN 1 Ciruas, and the sample were the students of X IPS 5 as experimental class and X IPS 2 as control class. The classes were chosen by cluster random sampling from tenth class. In collecting the data, the researcher conducted pre-test and post-test consisting of 20 multiple choice items. In analyzing the data, the writer used T-test. The result of the calculation showed that in the significance degree of 5% is is tcount (20.53) is higher than ttable (2.00). It means the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and it can be seen that the average gained score of the experimental class is higher than those of control class. Therefore, it can be concluded that Jeopardy game is effective on the students’ reading comprehension on narrative text at tenth grade students at SMAN 1 Ciruas. So, it can conclude that there is positive developing on students’ reading comprehension on narrative text by using Jeopardy game at the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Ciruas. It showed that in the result of test after implementing Jeopardy game (in posttest) showed the good improvement. Furthermore, this method can be an alternative technique for English in teaching learning process especially in reading comprehension.
