The design of this research was a classroom action research. This research aimed to find out the improvement of students’ reading comprehension in narrative text through picture series. This research was conducted in SMPN 3 Cibaliung on the second semester of academic year 2016/2017. This research used picture series as the media that was implemented in class of 8-B which is consisted of 28 students. This research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. In this research, the researcher used quantitative and qualitative data to see the improvement of the students’ reading comprehension. The result showed that there was significant improvement in the students’ reading comprehension. The process of teaching students narrative reading through picture series is interesting and has positive responses from the students. It could be seen in the students’ score from cycle 1 to cycle 2. It improved from 56.25 to 81.25. It means that there is an improvement in the student’ achievement 25.00.
