THE INFLUENCE OF SCRABBLE GAME TECHNIQUE TOWARDS STUDENTSí VOCABULARY MASTERY AT TENTH GRADE OF DAAR EL-ISTIQOMAH ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL KOTA SERANG

The objective of this research was to find out whether there is any significant influence of scrabble game toward students‘ vocabulary mastery. This research used true experimental pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was the tenth grade of Daar El-Istiqmah Islamic Boading School Kota Serang. The samples was chosen based on cluster random technique. 10A as experimental class and 10B as control class. Total of the sample are 50 students which are divided into two classes 10A 21 students and 10B 29 students. To collect the data of this research pretest and posttest were used. In the tests students were asked to answer 20 items of multiple choices. In analyzing the data, there were several testing that have to be measured and analyzed. The researcher used content validity and inter-rater reliability in order to make the instruments was valid and reliable. In testing the hypothesis the researcher used t-test as formulas to know the influence of scrabble game toward students‘ vocabulary mastery at tenth grade of Daar El-Istiqomah Islamic Boarding School T-test was used. The analysis showed that T-count > T-table (4.11>2.01). It can be inferred that the null hypothesis was rejected. It meant that scrabble game technique gave significant influence toward students‘ vocabulary mastery.
