THE INFLUENCE OF ENGLISH SONG TOWARD STUDENTSí PRONUNCIATION AT TENTH GRADE OF SMKN 3 CILEGON

The objective of the research is to find out is there any influence or not using English song toward students‟ pronunciation at the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Cilegon. This research used quantitative approach through quasi experimental as a research design. The populations of this research were all of tenth grade students of SMKN 3 Cilegon, and the researcher used purposive sampling as the sample. There are 10 UPW (Usaha PerjalananWisata) 1 as experimental class and 10 TB (Tata Busana) 1 as control class. Each class consisted of 33 students. As the result, the research showed the average score of pretest in control class was 51.29 and became 66.70 in the posttest. Meanwhile, in experimental class the average score of pretest was 59.88 and became 83.61 in the posttest. In finding a significant difference between two variables, the researcher conducted T-test. The result showed tcountwas higher than ttable(7.53 ≥ 1.99). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Then, the researcher inter`preted the result of effect size above by seeing the scale of effect size. The value of 0.648 was at large level. Therefore, the researcher concluded that English song has influence toward students‟ pronunciation.
