THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING ANIMATION MOVIE IN TEACHING WRITING RECOUNT TEXT AT TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 2 PANDEGLANG

The objective of this research is to find out whether or not animation movie is effective towards students‟ in teaching writing recount text ability at the tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Pandeglang. The researcher chose quantitative as the methodology of the research with true experimental design. The population was all of the tenth grade students with total 427 students. The study was carried out in two classes. The researcher used cluster random sampling as a sample. Class X MIA 6 was the control class while X MIA 2 was experimental class. The classes were given tests as the instrument, namely pre-test and post-test. The experimental class was treated with using animation movie as the media while the control class was taught without it. The result showed that animation movie was effective to use in teaching writing of recount text. It was proved by t-test result counted by SPSS v.22. The t-count was 2.56 and the t-table was 1.99. The significance level with two tailed test was 0.013 with α = 0.05 or 5% of significance level and 61 of df which indicated that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Therefore, it indicated that there was positive effect of using animation movie towards students‟ in teaching writing recount text ability at tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Pandeglang. Based on the result above, animation movie is effective to use in teaching writing recount text for senior high school.
