THE INFLUENCE OF USING GUIDED QUESTIONS TOWARD STUDENTSí WRITING ABILITY ON DESCRIPTIVE TEXT AT EIGHTH GRADE OF MTS NURUL ILMI TANGERANG

This research only have one objective. It is to find out whether there is the influence of using guided questions toward students’ writing ability on descriptive text at eight grade students of MTS Nurul Ilmi Tangerang. This research was apply the quantitative approach that was deal with experimental method. Thus, this research was conducted by uses true experimental design which concern to the students’ writing ability. The researcher took true-experimental as the research design of this study. As guideline in arrangement of this research, this reseach followed some steps. They were as follow: decided  the subject of the research, decided the experimental and control class, try out the instrument, gave  the students pre-test about writing ability on descriptive text, gave one time of treatment for experimental class by using guided questions and the control class will without guided questions, gave the students post-test about writing ability on descriptive text, analyze  the data, concluded  the result of the research. In analyzing the data, the researcher used several steps. The data was collected from students’ pre-test and post-test of both classes. According to the result of pre-test and post-test from the experimental class, it shows that the mean score of post-test (82.60) was higher than the pre-test (54.00). Furthermore, in the control class, the mean score of post-test was higher than the pre-test (82.60>54.00). The improvement of the score in experimental class was (28.60) and control class was got decreasing until (90.00). Based on the data explained whether the gain score of pre-test to post-test has tvalue 11.067 more than t table 2.010. It means the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. In other words there was any influence using guided questions on students’ writing comprehension in descriptive text. That the answer of research problem was proven that there is a significant difference between students’ guided questions and without using guided questions in MTs Nurul ilmi.
