This study was intended to investigate: (1) the type of code-mixing that is used by the children from multicultural family (2) the reasons of the children from multicultural family use code-mixing in their speech. It was carried in EvFia Land School by using qualitative method through case study analysis. The data of this research was gathered by doing observation, documentation and interview. The objectives of the research are to find out the types of code-mixing which are used by the children from mu lticultural family based on Muysken’s theory. It also contains the reasons of the children from multicultural family used code-mixing in their speech that were analyzed based on Hoffman’s theory and its explanation. The researcher focused on phenomenon of code-mixing on children from multicultural family. The subjects of the research are Jasmine Chin and Yasser Obbaid. The result shows that the children used Insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization on their speech. They also used code-mixing because of their real-lexical need as the most common reason.
