THE INFLUENCE OF USING TEAM WORD-WEBBING TOWARDS STUDENTSí READING COMPREHENSION IN DESCRIPTIVE TEXT AT TENTH GRADE OF SMK PASUNDAN 1 SERANG KOTA

The objective of this research was to find out the influence of using team wordwebbing towards students’ reading comprehension in descriptive text at tenth grade of SMK Pasundan 1 Serang Kota. The researcher used quantitative research by applied quasi experimental design for conducting the research. The subject of this research was the tenth grade students’ of SMK Pasundan 1 Serang Kota. Cluster random sampling was used to decide the subject of this research, the subject consisted of two classes which were divided into experimental class and control class. The experimental class was X (administrasi perkantoran) AP – 2 and X (administrasi perkantoran) AP – 3 as control class, each class consisted of 42 students. The main instrument of this research was test, the test used in this research was divided into two tests, pre-test and post-test. Before giving pre-test and post-test, the researcher conducted try-out in other class, the try-out was conducted to know if the instrument that used in pre-test and post-test was valid and reliable as research instrument. In analyzing the data, there were several testing that have to be measured and analyzed. They were testing of data normality, testing of data homogeneity, testing of statistical hypothesis, and the last was testing of effect size. To find the influence of using team word-webbing towards students’ reading comprehension in descriptive text at tenth grade of SMK Pasundan 1 Serang Kota, the researcher used chi-square t-test as hypothesis testing formula. The result of this research showed that by using team wordwebbing has the influence in developing students reading comprehension with 0.231 medium influence based on the scale of effect size.
