THE INFLUENCE OF USING GUESSING GAME TOWARD STUDENTS SPEAKING SKILL AT THE EIGHTH GRADE OF MTSN 1 CIRUAS

The aim of this research was to find out the influence of using guessing game toward students speaking skill. The research methodology applied in this research was quantitative method with true experimental design. This research was conducted in MTsN 1 Ciruas at the eighth grade on second semester of academic year 2015/2016. In this research, the population was 304 students of the eighth grade. This research involved two classes of the eighth grade of MTsN 1 Ciruas which was pointed based on cluster random sampling technique. One class was chosen as an experimental group and another class as a control group. The sample was 70 students. The instrument used was oral speaking test which divided into two parts; pre-test and post-test. Moreover, the researcher used content validity to know the validity of the tests and Cohens Kappa Coefficient to test the inter-rater reability. After collecting the data, the researcher analyzed them by using t-test. In analyzing the data, the researcher used SPSS v. 16. The researcher got the result from the sig. (2-tailed) was 0.031 while the alpha level was 0.05. It showed that sig. (2-tailed) was less than the alpha level (0.031< 0.05). Therefore, the null hypothesis is refused and the alternative hypothesis is received. It means that there was a positive influence between the group treated with guessing game technique and the group with three-phase techique. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that guessing ame technique can influence students speaking skill
