IMPROVING STUDENTSí LISTENING COMPREHENSION THROUGH WATCHING MOVIE AT EIGHTH GRADE OF MTSN 1 KOTA SERANG

The objectivites of the research were to describe the process of improving students’ listening comprehension through watching movie at Eight Grade of MTsN 1 Kota Serang. The research methodology was classroom action research (CAR). The implementation of classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. There were cycle I and cycle II. Each cycle consisted of three meetings. This research involved the students of VIII C which consisted of 34 students. The instruments used in collecting the data were observation, test (pre-tests and post-tests), and documentation. The result of this research showed that there was a significant difference of the students’ achivement in pre-tests and posttests. The average score of pre-test was 66,47%. While, after giving treatment in cycle I, the students’ average score in post-test I was 72, 25. Then, after giving treatment in cycle II, the students’ average score in post-test II was 80, 14. The students can develop their listening skill through watching movie. Based on the data taken, the researcher concluded that: 1) There was the improvement of using watching movie, 2) The students became interested, and 3) The class became more active.
