The objective of this research is to find out whether there is a significant improvement of students’ understanding in using Simple Present Tense by using Tic tac toe game at the seventh grade students of SMPN 10 Kota Serang. The population of this research was all of the students of seventh grade at SMPN 10 Kota Serang, and the sample that was used in this research was the students of VII F as control class and VII J as the experimental class. The researcher used 40 students as samples from both of classes. The classes were chosen randomly from the eight classes.  In this research, the researcher used quantitative approach with true experimental design as a method as of the research. By using this method in this research, the researcher conducted the experiment in order to find out but the significant improvement in experimental class after treatment. The instruments that were used by the researcher in this research were the written test. Moreover, content and construct validity was used to know the validity of tests and Alpha Cronbach Formula was used to test the reliability of try out. After collecting the data, the researcher analyzed them by using T-test  The result of this research, the improvement of students’ grammar skill on experimental class was significant. It can be seen from result of T- Test. The researcher got the result from significance test or “t” count is 4.22, while, the “t” table is 1.69. it shown that that “t” count is higher than “t” (4.22 ≥ 1.69). Therefore, the null hypothesis is refused and the alternative hypothesis is received. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant improvement of students’ understanding of Simple Present Tense by using Tic tac toe game at the seventh grade students of SMPN 10 Kota Serang.
