IMPROVING STUDENTSí WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT BY USING ENVIRONMENTAL MEDIA AT TENTH GRADE OF SMAN 5 KOTA SERANG

The objective of the research was to describes the implementation of environment media in writing descriptive text. Based on the importance of writing, where mastering the ability to write would did by applying variation medias. Like other skills, students need practice to improve. The use of this research was to apply the process of improving students’ writing descriptive text by using environmental media and to show the improvement of student ability in writing descriptive text by using environmental media.The researcher used qualitative research which applied classrom action research (CAR) as research methodology. The researcher involve the class of tenth grade  SMAN 5 kota Serang which consisted of 36 students. The research conducted two cycles, each cycle consisted of four steps,they are; planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The instrument which was used to collect the data were test, observation, and documentation.The result of the study showed that the use of environmental media and step by step guidance on the writing  process improved the students ability in writng descriptive text. The result of average the student writing score 50 in pre cycle, 55.11 in cycle I and 72.22 in cycle II.  It means the data showed that environment media had given the improvement to the students’ ability in writing descriptive text. In improving students learning increased 10.22%, in cycle II became 44,44%.
