The objective of this research was to find out the influence of number head together technique toward students‟ reading skill at second grade students in SMP Madinatul-Hadid KS Cilegon in academic year 2014/2015. The researcher used quasi-experimental. Data were obtained from the students pretest and posttest score. The result of this research showed that number head together technique influenced students‟ reading skill. The researcher found the mean of pretest score in control class was 57.2 and experimental class was 56.4, x2 value of control class was 5.107 and experimental class was 2.989. Meanwhile, mean of posttest score in control class was 70.4 and experimental class was 77.2, x2 value of control class was 4.635 and experimental class was 8.141. There using an increase in posttest from experimental class. It means the scores of experimental class higher than control class. In conclusion, number head together technique has a significance influence toward students‟ reading skill.
