THE INFLUENCE OF USING PODCAST TOWARD STUDENTS’ LISTENING ABILITY AT THE EIGHTH GRADE OF SMPN 1 BOJONEGARA

The objective of this research was to investigate whether there is the influence of using podcast at the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Bojonegara or not. In obtaining the data, the research method was a quantitative research particularly true experimental design and used two classes into experimental group and control group. The population of the research was the eighth grade students at SMPN 1 Bojonegara by using podcast. Class 8F as the experimental group which is consisted of 32 students and class 8E as the control group which is consisted of 32 students. The reliability of test is 0,704, meanwhile r table of 32 is 0,349. It means the test was reliable, because 0,349 < 0,704. achievement was increased. It can be seen from the result of mean improvement between the pretest and posttest from the experimental group and the control group. The improvement mean of experimental was significantly higher. Therefore podcast Then, tvalue (3,606) is higher than critical value (1,697). It means, there is significant difference between the students who have been taught by using podcast and those who were not using podcast. Since tvalue > t table listening ability at the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Bojonegara. So, the hypothesis (Ha) that stated there is significant influence of using podcast at the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Bojonegara is accepted.
