IMPROVING STUDENTSí LISTENING COMPREHENSION THROUGH WATCHING MOVIES CARTOON BLUES CLUES AT SEVENTH GRADE OF SMPN 225 JAKARTA BARAT

The purpose of this research is a new perspective for English teachers of Junior High School particularly a new technique in teaching listening comprehension. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research in which the researcher observed and gave the treatment for teaching listening comprehension. The researcher used pre-test to find out students’ ability before they got the treatment. In addition, the researcher also used post-test to find out students’ improvement after giving the treatment. The average of pre-test is 72,36% and the average of post-test one is 73,05%. The improvement between pre-test and post-test one is 6,9%. In the post-test two, the average score is 80,69%. The improvement between post-test one and post-test two is 7,64%. Besides, in the process of teaching listening comprehension, the students enjoyed to watch the cartoon movies about Blues Clues. They could follow and comprehend what they watch and listen. In addition, they also could learn some new vocabularies when they answered the questions.
