THE INFLUENCE OF USING COMPUTER-BASED TESTING TOWARD STUDENTSí SCORE IN ACHIEVEMENT TESTAMONG STUDENTS AT THE TENTH GRADE OF SMKN 1 KOTA SERANG

This research aimed to figure out the influence of using computer-based testing toward students’ score in achievement test. The research design used was quantitative approach specifically true experimental design. The population used in this research wasthe students of the tenth grade of SMKN 1 Kota Serang in academic year 2014/2015. The taken sampling was X accounting 2 and X multimedia 1. The sample was selected by cluster sampling technique which required 10% from population. So, the selected sample were 39 students of control class and 39 students of experimental class. The instrument of research was test which administered into two forms; pre-test and post-test. The instrument have been examined through tryout which has been conducted in X accounting 1 class. So, it was proven that the research instrument was valid and reliable. After doing the research, it can be seen that the experimental class who got computerbased testing as treatment showed the difference score from the control class. It was supported by the T-test. This calculation showed the result of tcount is higher than ttable (3.149 > 1.99) with the degree of freedom 76 and the significance 0.05. It can be concluded that the computer-based testing has an influence toward students’ score in achievement test and it can be used as an alternative technique in assesing students achievement.
