THE INFLUENCE OF USING DICTOGLOSS TOWARDS STUDENTS LISTENING SKILL AT THE SEVENTH GRADE OF SMPN 3 KOTA SERANG

This research was conducted to find out the influence of using dictogloss towards students listening skill at the seventh grade students of SMPN 3 kota Serang. This research was conducted by applying quantitative approach through true experimental as a research design toward seventy students in seventh grade students of SMPN 3 kota Serang, which was chosen based on random sampling, and divided into thirty five students as an experimental group and the other thirty five as the control group. The result of the research revealed a finding to the research question. It showed by score of pretest and post-test. The mean score of pre-test in control group which was 6.02 became 6.57 in the post-test. Meanwhile, in experimental group the mean score of pre-test was 6.25 and became 7.37 in post-test The hypothesis test used independent t-test showed the result that t-test was higher than t-table (2.494 > 2.000). If tcount > tTable so H0 is rejected and HA is accepted. It means that there was a positive influence occurred towards students listening skill in the group treated with using dictogloss compared to the group with conventional technique. Based on the result of the research, the researcher concluded that dictogloss could be one of the effective ways in influencing students listening.
